Announcements

Dwelling 1:14 -Mission Support– We have been discussing how we can support the mission outreach of Pastor Greg Finke/Dwelling 1:14. In the past eight years they have trained over 500 congregations and distributed over 50,000 Dwelling 1:14 books and videos in many countries, all aimed at Joining Jesus on His Mission.   The Dwelling 1:14 Mission has a tight annual budget of $249,000 with 50% of that amount raised from donations.  Without donors, Dwelling 1:14 would have to cease operations and would not be able to encourage people around the world to share Jesus with those around them. During the month of October, Dwelling 1:14 Mission has a $25,000 matching gift campaign. What a great time to support this mission outreach! All gifts given in October will be matched, dollar for dollar!   During the remaining Sundays in October, if the Lord moves you to support the spread of the Gospel through Dwelling 1:14, please share your gift through a check payable to St. Paul Lutheran that includes a notation on the memo line for Pastor Finke or Dwelling 1:14; checks can be placed in the offering plate. We will forward the funds to Dwelling 1:14 before the end of October so that they will be matched.

TODAY IS LWML SUNDAY. We will have our noisy offering to collect Mites for the LWML Mission Grants. You can help spread the Gospel around the world by contributing to the mission goal. Thank you.

At the Baptismal Font: Sigurd Jacob Baker, son of Jacob & Alaina Baker, is being baptized today at the 8:30 am service. His sponsors are Jacob Helmstetter, Sam Baker and Annie Baker.

November Epistle items are due Tuesday, October 15th.

The Book to Know group will meet Nov. 14th, 7:00 pm, at Thelma Voetberg’s home to discuss “Fire by Night” by Lynn Austin. Everyone is invited to read this book and join us for the discussion.

Reminder– Next Sunday is Bethesda Food Pantry Sunday. Monetary donations allow the Food Pantry to buy what is needed at a reduced cost.

Food At First needs volunteers to serve and we have a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. We need more people to make the work lighter and faster. There is a need for clean, plastic containers with lids (like Cool Whip, butter, etc.) Also any paper napkins, plates, etc. left over from parties can be used. There will be a container labeled Food at First. Please help our friends with these items.

Trunk Or Treat is almost here!  All individuals, families, boards, committees and Missional Communities are encouraged to participate in this year’s Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 27th by hosting a trunk! If you would like to host a trunk please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Let us know your trunk theme! If you have questions contact a member of the Board of Education!
