Ever want to be part of the space program? Here’s your chance to be part of “Mission Control” at our VBS “Miraculous Mission!” We need volunteers to make our program a success. VBS is June 17-20 in the evenings. Please see the sign up sheet on the bulletin board or contact Carla Murphy for more information. VBS student registrations are also being accepted now.
Everyone is invited to Harvest Vineyard Church, 320 S. 17th St. in Ames for “Flapjacks for Freedom” pancake breakfast June 1, 7-11 am to fight human trafficking locally and globally. Suggested donations are $8 for adults and $4 for children. All proceeds will benefit Wings of Refuge in Ames and a similar organization in Mexico. If you are going on the Mission Central trip, stop by for breakfast before you go.
Next week we are collecting Mites for the LWML Mission Grants. You can help spread the Gospel around the world by contributing to the mission goal. The large mite box will be in the narthex. Thank you.
The Book to Know group will meet July 11th, 7:00 pm, at Carol Folkmann’s home to discuss “Same Kind of Different As Me: A Modern-Day Slave, an International Art Dealer, and the Unlikely Woman Who Bound Them Together” by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. Everyone is invited to read this book and join us for the discussion.
2019-2020 Service schedules are in your member mailboxes. If you have any conflicts, please trade with someone and let the office know. Thank you.
Looking for a way to serve? We need people to serve Sunday morning coffee at 9:45 am in JUNE. The sheet is posted on the bulletin board.
Have you thought about serving on the Altar Guild or are you interested in learning more about the Altar Guild? We are looking for more members. If you are interested or have questions, please feel free to talk to any of the Altar Guild members or chairman, Judy Peter.
If you have a special occasion to celebrate or just want to offer, we need members to sign up on the altar flower chart that is located on the bulletin board in the narthex.
Stewardship Opportunity– If you have ever had the thought of serving the Lord by being part of a board; stewardship has an opportunity you do not want to pass on. They are in need of a vice-chair for the 2019-2020 church year. The good news is the current chair, Larry Wiebel, is going to continue as chair for the upcoming year. Thus, you will be able to draw on Larry’s knowledge and leadership. For more information contact Larry or the co-chairs of the nominating committee Tom Henriksen or Paul Knop.
