This isn’t a “trivial pursuit”. It’s a worthy cause! Do you know stuff about things? Come show off your worthless trivia knowledge! The National Youth Gathering participants are hosting a trivia night January 13th to raise funds for the 2019 National Youth Gathering. Come compete for the prestigious title of: Champion of People who “Noah” few things. Cost is $100 per table (team) of eight (only $12.50 per person), and we have room for 12 tables/teams. Bring your own food, drink, and some friends for a great time. Whether you know a little bit about a lot of things or a lot about a little, come have some fun with us!  We are looking to pre-register the tables by early December so we can prepare the event through the busy holiday season. Pick a team captain and contact Thomas Wilson to reserve your table with pre-payment. Any questions contact Matt & Janelle W or Jeff & DeAnn B.

TODAY is the last day to order poinsettias for the sanctuary and narthex for Christmas. This year there will be a wedding at our church on December 9th and it was decided that it would be nice to have white poinsettias this year. The order form is in the announcement handout on Sunday mornings. Place your completed form and your check for $10.00 (made out to the church) in the office mailbox in the west coatroom. If you have any questions, please contact Judy P, Chair of Altar Guild.

The Board of Human Care wishes to say THANK YOU to all those who participated in our HOPE Gift Market.  It is through your generosity that we can “Help Other People Everywhere!”  If you have not yet contributed, we will collect order forms and checks through today, December 3rd.

Christmas Caroling…. Conversational Dinners will be Christmas Caroling on Saturday, Dec. 9th, at 5:30 pm.  We will meet at the Stone Brooke Club House, 3816 Fletcher Blvd, Ames at 5:30 pm and divide into groups, leaving the clubhouse at 6:00 pm.  After caroling we will again gather at the clubhouse for food and fellowship.  Please bring a holiday snack or dessert to share and your beverage of choice.  Contact Ellen S, or Carol F, if you are planning to join us or you have a question.

FAMILY SERVICE   ~ Our Christmas Luncheon will be in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday, Dec. 14 beginning at noon. All women of the congregation are invited to attend. No need to bring food, it will all be provided. We will play Jesus Bingo, so please bring a wrapped $5 bingo prize.  If you are able to attend, please contact Geri S or Marilyn H by Dec. 10.

You got Gifts? We got wrap! As the busyness of the Christmas season gears up the dreadful task of wrapping all those presents can seem like a never-ending battle. If you find yourself needing some extra help this year with the task of making your presents cheerful and bright, let the participants of the 2019 National Youth Gathering help out! We will be holding a Gift Wrapping Fundraiser on Saturday, December 16th from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. This FREEWILL DONATION fundraiser will help the participants raise funds to attend the largest youth gathering in the LCMS in Minneapolis, MN in 2019.  Gift wrapping will include: the gift wrap, 2 bows and gift tag.

There are multiple ways to get your gifts wrapped:

1) Drop them off at the church and pick-up later that day (by 4:00 PM).

2) Drop them off at the church and pick up on Sunday.

3) Bring them in, let us wrap and you enjoy some snacks and a Christmas movie while you wait!

4) Don’t want to come to the church? Call the week of the event and set up delivery- we pick them up in the morning from your house and deliver them later that day!

A big thank you for the 342 items donated by the congregation on November 19th that were delivered to Bethesda Food Pantry.

The Board of Evangelism is seeking your help. We are currently looking for members to join our board. If the Board of Evangelism doesn’t appeal to you, then we invite you to check out any of the other Kingdom Worker boards here at St. Paul. All of our boards would be grateful for any new members. Please pray on this and if you’re interested just ask an elder for help to put you in contact with someone. Thank you!
