Reminder: There is no Sunday School during the summer. The Adult Bible class will meet in June and August.

On Sunday, June 14 a special LCMS National Offering will be taken after both services to support the LCMS in International and National Missions, Pastoral Education and the Joint Seminary Fund.

2016-2017 Service schedules are in your member mailboxes. Please let the office know of any trades or changes. Thanks.

The St. Paul Church (in rural Boone) Ladies Society invites all women to their “Mother, Daughter, Friend Salad Supper” on Wed, June 1 at 6:00 pm. They will be collecting items for Orphan Grain Train. (See the wish list on the bulletin board.) A speaker from the new Orphan Grain Train Clemons location will give a short presentation following the salad supper.

Power point and Soundboard operators needed! We would like to get a few more people trained to operate the power point and soundboard. It is not that difficult, but training is required. We will make sure you are completely comfortable with the operation before assigning you. Please contact the office if you have questions or are interested.

Offering COUNTERS NEEDED! In reviewing the feedback from the Time & Talent forms we have received, we still need few more volunteers to cover the “counters” for next year. Women’s Bible study  We are doing a spring / summer study on “Focus Lost, Focus Restored”. It looks at several people in the Bible and can be done as individual sessions, so come when you are able. All women are invited to attend. Our next lesson (June 6 at 5:45 pm) will look at Elijah.

We have the Joining Jesus on His Mission books by Greg Finke. This book tells you how to share Jesus’ love in everyday life. Pastor will lead a Bible study on this in the fall, so if you would like to read it over the summer you can purchase them for $10 from the office.

See the following mission trips: (Information and registration is on the bulletin board and  also at www.idwlcms.org under IOWAY) July 10 – 17:Elk River, Minnesota; August 5 – 7:Omaha, Nebraska; September 30 – October 2: Camp Okoboji, Milford Iowa;  December 29 – January 5: Pasadena California and optional one day trip to Tijuana Mexico. Informed Choices of Iowa Clinic will be having a Walk for Life and Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, June 4. See the display in the narthex with details on how to sign up. For more information or questions, contact Marlene Johnson at 292-1316.

The Book to Know group will meet July 14 to discuss “Band of Sisters” by Cathy Gohlke. There is plenty of time to get this book read and join us.

Ladies- Look through those closets! Bring your gently used (or new) purses for the purse auction at the Iowa West District LWML Convention, June 23-25. The proceeds from the auction will go towards the Mite goal.  

Please join Operation Barnabas in a “Drive-Thru” Memorial Day Supply Drive for Veterans!  Simply “Drive-Thru” Camp Dodge on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30th, from 5 to 9 a.m. and drop off donations to benefit Veterans in Central Iowa. While at Camp Dodge enjoy a free breakfast during the Van and Bonnie Show. (Note: free breakfast until it runs out.) The list of items needed is on the bulletin board.
