Announcements:
An information coordinator for the National Youth Gathering is still needed! One does not need kids traveling to the youth gathering to help with this. It could be anyone, or a couple, who would be willing to help the youth and parents get ready for the 2016 Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Contact Lowell Highby if you would like to help.
Thrivent Builds Funding As we come toward the end of 2013, we begin to reflect on what we have and what we can do. One of the things we have begun in 2013 is the building of a Thrivent Builds House in Huxley. This is in partnership with Central Iowa Habitat for Humanity. Because of the help of many volunteers, the house has progressed very well and will be complete so the family can move in before Christmas. If we all do our share, we can bring affordable housing to one more family in Story County. Please make your contributions to your church with a note that it is for “Thrivent Builds.” Please mail your contribution to our treasurer at address noted below by year end. We thank you so much for your help with this project. Thank You. Story County Thrivent Board Treasurer, Bob Folkmann
The Praise Team is in great need of keyboard volunteers. If you can help out, please talk to Joan Ingwersen.
The WOSP say THANK YOU to everyone who responded to the names on the Angel Tree. The results were overwhelming and will certainly make a merrier Christmas to those in need. God’s Blessings to all of you.
Books to Know Group We will meet next on 9to discuss Lessons I learned in the Dark by Jennifer Rothschild at Adele Knop’s house.
Can we do it? We are so close to setting a new record for the Hope Gift Market donations. Right now our total giving is at $9,695 and that’s wonderful! Praise the Lord! But wouldn’t it be great if our total would get to $10,000?Just a little more and we’re there. Let’s see if a few of us could come up with just a few more dollars to put the giving over the top. Your Human Care Committee thanks all those who made this year such a success. Again we say, “Praise the Lord!”
