Announcements:

An information coordinator for the National Youth Gathering is still needed! One does not need kids traveling to the youth gathering to help with this. It could be anyone, or a couple, who would be willing to help the youth and parents get ready for the 2016 Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Contact Lowell Highby if you would like to help.

Thrivent Builds Funding  As we come toward the end of 2013, we begin to reflect on what we have and what we can do.  One of the things we have begun in 2013 is the building of a Thrivent Builds House in Huxley. This is in partnership with Central Iowa Habitat for

Humanity. Because of the help of many volunteers, the house has progressed very well and will be complete so the family can move in before Christmas.  If we all do our share, we can bring affordable housing to one more family in Story County. Please make your contributions to your church with a note that it is for “Thrivent Builds.” Please mail your contribution to our treasurer at address noted below by year end. We thank you so much for your help with this project. Thank You.  Story County Thrivent Board Treasurer, Bob Folkmann

Important 2013 Christmas program dates/times:  PRACTICE: Saturday, December 14th  9-11 am (all grades) with pizza afterwards. PROGRAM/SERVICE: Sunday, December 15th – 11:00 am service / please have your child(ren) at church by 9:45 am as we will be doing one last quick run through before the program.

Nursery Scheduler  We need a person willing to coordinate the monthly schedule for nursery workers. Can be handled via email for the most part. Please let the office know if you can help out. Thanks so much!

Our new Audio/Visual system is ready for use. We are in need of willing people who would like to be trained to operate the control panel. When the system has been installed the company will provide training for all interested parties. If you would be willing to serve in this way, please let Chris Hand or the office know.  Thank you,  Board of Elders

The Praise Team is in great need of keyboard volunteers.  If you can help out, please talk to Joan Ingwersen.

Poinsettias for the dedication to the glory and honor of our God and for the beautification of our sanctuary are available for the price of $9.00 per plant.  The deadline to order is TODAY, December 8th. Please make checks payable to St. Paul Lutheran Church with a notation that it is for a Poinsettia.  Please place your order form and check in the office mailbox in the west coatroom.

NEEDED:  Nursery volunteers for both the 8:30 service and 9:45 Sunday School hour.  We cannot continue to rely on the same few people month after month.  Please consider taking one hour a month.  Our children and parents need you!

Can we do it? We are so close to setting a new record for the Hope Gift Market donations. Right now our total giving is at $9,695 and that’s wonderful! Praise the Lord! But wouldn’t it be great if our total would get to $10,000?Just a little more and we’re there. Let’s see if a few of us could come up with just a few more dollars to put the giving over the top. Your Human Care Committee thanks all those who made this year such a success. Again we say, “Praise the Lord!”
