We have a wonderful outreach here at St. Paul with our preschool. One of the best ways we can support our preschool’s families is through prayer. We would like to have a church family praying regularly for each preschool family. That’s it!!!  Just pray!  Please sign up on the bulletin board and a preschool family will be given to you to include in your prayers.

Are you working on your bucket list this summer? There are still party buckets available to take home and have a party. Some are coming back and are being reloaded for more fun! It’s a great way to build relationships with neighbors, co-workers, friends, family, etc. Give it a try.  Any questions? Call Janelle Swenson or Ellen Sander.

Fall Women’s Bible Study – We will be studying “David, A Man after God’s Heart” in September.  If you would like a book, please let the office know. Thank you.

Sign Up for August 26 Training Day Event! Reverend Greg Finke and Susan Finke will be joining us for the weekend of August 26.  On Saturday August 26, they will lead a fun and informative training session from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.  We have available after the church service today Reverend Finke’s just published book “Joining Jesus: Show Me How”. The discounted price cost is $10. In order to prepare for this great event, please complete the sign-up form in the worship folder. Over 60 members of our church family attended the training event in January with Reverend Finke and Susan.  This session promises to be just as fun and informative.  We will learn how simple it is to disciple our family and friends the way Jesus disciples His family and friends in the gospel.

PICK & PAY ~The 2019 NYG participants kick off their two-year fundraising campaign this Sunday (today) and we kick it off with a NEW idea this year: Pick & Pay!  This gourmet lollipop tree is a great way to help the NYG participants to earn funds to make it to Minneapolis in 2019. It’s easy! Pick the sucker you want, look at the bottom of the stick, pay the amount that corresponds to the color you have! It could cost you only 50 cents, $1, $2, or at most $5! Take a chance and help us earn some dough! This is the sweetest deal around!

Junior High Gathering NAILED IT!   Iowa District West holds a Junior High Youth Gathering in Des Moines every fall for youth grades 6th through 8th grades. This year the theme is “Nailed It” to go along with the Reformation. The Board of Youth would like to have a group attend the gathering and will be conducting and informational meeting next Sunday, August 13th @ 10:00 AM in the Youth Room. We highly encourage parents and youth to attend the meeting for more information! If you have questions please feel free to contact Carla Murphy.

New curriculum has been chosen for this class and we would like to get a teacher, or teachers, in place soon. Please prayerfully consider this chance for you to have an impact on the lives of the youth of this congregation! Mighty Fortress VBS was Mighty! We had 87 kids from preschool through 6th grade!  (45 registered prior to July 27 and 42 registered after.) We had 45 boys, 42 girls and 31 in the preschool group. About 30 kids were St. Paul members with the rest from area churches or no church at all!  Duane Faas /Thrivent served 135 people on the last night during our VBS Showcase. It took over 30 volunteers during the 4 days-thank you! We collected $700 for “Sharing God’s Mighty Word” which provides bibles, devotional and Bible-based books to kids in the U.S. This VBS was truly God at work!
