Announcements:

Thanksgiving Baskets of Plenty- Sunday, November 20, is the Thanksgiving Food In-Gathering for Bethesda Community Food Pantry. Cash/chick donations and non-perishable food items will be placed in the altar area. Suggested food items: food which can be used by children during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. Many children only have the meal they get at school and during breaks they may not have anything. Cash donations allow the food pantry to purchase what is needed at a greatly reduced cost. (Make checks out to the church). 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ~in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 

Troop IA2016 of the American Heritage Girls with deep gratitude thanks the congregation of St Paul for supporting our Reformation Day Bake Sale. Funds from the $851 raised will help buy supplies and fund activities such as the spring camp out. The troop learned many wonderful things from this event from….”What is the Reformation?” to “The people at St. Paul are very friendly and kind.” to “When working together a lot can happen.” The American Heritage Girls really enjoyed getting to know the St. Paul’s congregation.

Family Service Circle will meet on Thursday Nov. 17th from 10:15 until 2:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. we will have our monthly business meeting a devotion and dessert. a sack lunch and join us.

The next LYF event will be Wednesday, November 16th from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. We will have supper and then decorate cookies and make cards for shut-ins at church and then we will deliver to them and visit with them. If any parents would like to volunteer to drive that would be great. We’ll have the kids back at church by 8 so parents can pick them up. The permission forms are due TODAY to Stephanie Taylor or the church office. Permission forms were emailed out and a few are on the magazine rack in the west entryway.

POSITION AVAILABLE: Director of Music Ministry- We are seeking a person to lead our music program at St. Paul. The duties of this part time position would to be to direct the Bell Choir and the Parish Choir. In addition, the opportunity to serve as part time organist would be available. Compensation to be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Christmas Musical- Bethel Church in Boone will be doing their annual “The Gospel According to Scrooge” musical on Dec. 2, 3, and 4. See the flyer on the bulletin board.

Quilters Needs- We could still use some gently used sheets for the quilts. Please leave them in the bin marked “Quilting Supplies” under the coat rack at the east entrance. you.

The Benevolence Fund (Friend in Need) was started to act as an emergency fund to help members facing temporary financial difficulties. Currently, the fund is in need of replenishment. We invite you to consider donating to this worthy cause to help your fellow members in need. 

2017 Offering Envelopes are ready for pick-up in the narthex. Please pick them up promptly.

TODAY- There will be a short informational meeting in the sanctuary after first service for all interested in the next National Youth Gathering in July 2019 in Minneapolis. Youth must be either 14 yrs. old or entering 9th grade at the time of the gathering
