Announcements:

New Bible Study on Romans beginning this Wednesday, from 10:30-11:30 am! Join us as we explore the book that had the greatest impact on Luther launching the Reformation. For the September 6th class, please read Chapters 1-2.

Midweek classes start this week on September 6, 2017 at 4:30 pm.

Sunday School Kick-Off: 10, 2017   Bibles will be given to our 3 year-olds, 3rd graders and 7th grade students at both services.

We have a wonderful outreach here at St. Paul with our preschool. One of the best ways we can support our preschool’s families is through prayer. We would like to have a church family praying regularly for each preschool family. That’s it!!!  Just pray!  Please sign up on the bulletin board and a preschool family will be given to you to include in your prayers.

The Book to Know group will meet September 14 at Marlene Johnson’s home to discuss “Candle in the Darkness” by Lynn Austin.  Everyone is invited to read this book and join us for the discussion.

Fall Women’s Bible Study – We will be studying “David, A Man after God’s Heart” beginning September 11 at 5:45 pm in the church basement.  If you would like a book, please let the office know. Thank you.

Parish Choir begins soon!  Mary Nelson is back to direct our vocal choir this fall. Practices will begin Sept 12 at 7:30 pm and will be held on Tuesdays each week. Former choir members and NEW choir members are all encouraged to come and sing.

Junior High Gathering “NAILED IT!” Iowa District West Junior High Youth Gathering is in Des Moines Oct 21-22 for youth 6th through 8th grades. This year the theme is “Nailed It” to go along with the Reformation. Registrations are due Sept 20.  If you missed the meeting but have questions please feel free to contact Carla Murphy or Thomas Wilson. 

The Board of Education would like to remind everyone of the following date:  October 29th-Trunk-or-Treat from 2:00-3:30 pm. Please be thinking about participating by decorating a trunk for this fun family activity. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the date.

The Board of Ed. is always looking for new ideas for better serving our youth. you have any thoughts and suggestions, please don’t hesitate to bring them to anyone on the board.

Higher Power Gospel Quartet -St. Paul Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 16 at 6:30 pm. Also performing: St. Paul’s Rock Solid Group

The St. Paul Bell Choir is gearing up to start their season of ringing. Rehearsal times will begin Sept 12 at 6:30 pm and will be held on Tuesdays each week. are welcome to come (literally) ring praises to our Lord. If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email or give Katie S.

LWML Fall Rally-Sept 16, Trinity, Perry – All women are invited to attend.  The ingathering for the LWML Fall Rally will be new men’s socks. If you would like to donate socks, please place them in the designated bin.

LYF Event at Moore Park on September 13th, 5:30 pm- Fall LYF Cookout and Nature Hike Save the date and join us Wednesday, September 13, from 5:30-7:30 pm. We will meet at church at 5:30 pm and travel to Moore Park for time in nature, hikes, games and a cookout complete with s’mores! Look for permission forms on the magazine rack in the west entryway.
