Announcements:

TODAY we will be collecting Mites for the LWML Mission Grants. November featured Grant-  $100,000 – To assist the global Lutheran churches in equipping those who seek advanced theological training who will return to their homeland and train countless others to proclaim Jesus boldly.

COME HAVE FUN DECORATING THE CHURCH FOR CHRISTMAS- Saturday, December 3rd there is Children’s Christmas Program practice from 9:00 to 11:00.  We will be “Decorating for Christmas” starting at 10:00 and can work in the narthex and fellowship hall from 10:00 to noon.  Then at 1:00 pm or whenever you can come and join in the fun, we will be decorating the sanctuary and putting up the tree. This is a special time of the year for all of us and what a great way to start out the season to take time to help prepare our hearts and the church. The more that help, means more fun and less work than just a few can do.

**Wednesday, November 30th following the Advent Service, we would like some help in getting out all the Christmas decorations for decorating on Saturday.  We would appreciate the help.

The December Epistle is ready to collate- please come on Monday (the 28th) at 9:15 am if you can help.

POSITION AVAILABLE: Director of Music Ministry- We are seeking a person to lead our music program at St. Paul. The duties of this part time position would to be to direct the Bell Choir and the Parish Choir. In addition, the opportunity to serve as part time organist would be available. Compensation to be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Quilters Needs- We could still use some gently used sheets for the quilts. Please leave them in the bin marked “Quilting Supplies” under the coat rack at the east entrance. you.

The Benevolence Fund (Friends in Need) was started to act as an emergency fund to help members facing temporary financial difficulties. Currently, the fund is in need of replenishment. We invite you to consider donating to this worthy cause to help your fellow members in need. 

2017 Offering Envelopes are ready for pick-up in the narthex. Please pick them up promptly.

Conversational Dinners …. In keeping with the theme “As Time Goes By”  In December we will be “Caroling Merrily Along in the 80’s”.  We will gather at our host’s home at 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 10th, warm up our caroling voices, split up into two groups and set out to sing Christmas greetings to members of St. Paul.  We will gather together after caroling for 80’s era snacks and beverages.  If you would like us to come and sing with joyful enthusiasm at your home or you know of someone who enjoy us stopping by to sing a few carols, please let us know.  If you are interested in being the host couple in December, please let us know as soon as possible.

After caroling, in keeping with this year’s theme “As Time Goes By – Caroling Through the 80’s”, we will return to our host couple’s home to enjoy holiday snacks and desserts.  Plan to be part of this very special evening, enjoying good food, St. Paul friends, and a bit of the 80’s.  Remember, Conversational Dinners are open to all adult members of St. Paul.  No joining fee, no waiting list, just a good time and a chance to get to know your St. Paul “fellow disciples”.  Contact Drue or Ellen Sander for more information.

Needed….People who enjoy Christmas carols.  On Saturday, December 10, participants in Conversational Dinners will once again be caroling to our St. Paul members.  If you would like us to come and carol to you, or if you know of someone whom you think would enjoy listening to the favorite carols, please contact Drue or Ellen Sander at 515-292-3574.
