For Pastor’s Sunday morning Bible study on Greg Finke’s book, Joining Jesus on His Mission , please read chapter 2 for next week. This book tells you how to share Jesus’ love in everyday life. If you don’t have a copy yet, you can purchase them for $10 from the office.

Next Sunday we will be collecting Mites for the LWML Mission Grants. September’s featured Grant-  $100,000- The Lutheran Church Mission in Uganda (LCMU) hosts 100 plus congregations with less than 20 ordained pastors. This LWML Mission Grant will go toward completion of the seminary in Uganda and to continue the work of the Women of the Pearl (WOTP) to teach and put resources in the hands of women and men. The WOTP’s mission is to provide education in literacy, nutrition, sanitation, business ownership, and agriculture to women in Uganda so they may serve God, support pastors, congregations, and communities through the teachings of Scripture. The seminary allows pastors and lay leaders the opportunity to study closer to home.

The Book to Know group will meet Nov 10 at Lori Jenks’ home to discuss “Snow Day” by Bill Coffey. Everyone has plenty of time to read this book and join us for the discussion

The Women’s Bible study will resume this Monday, Sept 19 at 5:45 in the basement with our new Beth Moore study “The Patriarchs”. Books are available in the office for $5.00.

Director of Music Ministry — Mary Nelson has been our Director of Music Ministry for the past fifteen years. Mary was part of the music program for 25 years at Bethesda before the Lord led her to St. Paul to lead our music program. The Lord has called her back to Bethesda to serve as their primary organist effective November 1. Mary has been a blessing to our congregation and when you have the opportunity over the next 45 days please share that with her.

We will begin immediately the process of filling the position of Director of Music Ministry. A group of individuals interested in our music program will be formed to lead the search. This group will be led by Paul Knop and Jon Buss from the Board of Elders. If you are interested in learning more about the position or know of a person who you think would be a good candidate contact Paul.Knop@zionsbank.com or jonconbuss@outlool.com.

THANK YOU!! A big shout out to all the hardworking volunteers that made the Farm Progress Show fundraiser a success! The Preschool Board, Preschool teachers and students are very appreciative and grateful for your servant hearts and hands!!
