Announcements:

Power point and Soundboard operators needed! We would like to get a few more people trained to operate the power point and soundboard. It is not that difficult, but training is required. We will make sure you are completely comfortable with the operation before assigning you. Please contact the office if you have questions or are interested.

Women’s Bible study We are doing a spring / summer study on “Focus Lost, Focus Restored”. It looks at several people in the Bible and can be done as individual sessions, so come when you are able. All women are invited to attend. Our next lesson (June 27 at 5:45 pm) will look at Paul.

We have the Joining Jesus on His Mission books by Greg Finke. This book tells you how to share Jesus’ love in everyday life. Pastor will lead a Bible study on this in the fall, so if you would like to read it over the summer you can purchase them for $10 from the office.

TODAY we are collecting Mites for the LWML Mission Grants. June’s featured Grant- $100,000- The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) National Housing Support Corporation (NHSC) is launching the “Helping Hand” home repair initiative in a U.S. city in the spring of 2016. This rehab initiative is focused on supporting critical home repair needs of low-income, disabled and/or elderly residents near LCMS congregations. It will give congregations a tool to care for their neighbors’ bodily needs while opening doors to provide Word and Sacrament ministry to unreached individuals and families in their community.

The Book to Know group will meet July 14 at Carol Folkmann’s home to discuss “Band of Sisters” by Cathy Gohlke. There is plenty of time to get this book read and join us.

Today we welcome Rev. Bob Riggert as our guest worship leader. Pastor Riggert faithfully served the Iowa District West for many years as executive in Youth, Education and Stewardship (YES!).He has been a great supporter of our preschool as a mission outreach to our community. Since retiring from the District staff, Pastor Riggert has taken on a new role with Lutheran Church Extension Fund. We are blessed to have Pastor Riggert here to share God’s Word with us this morning.

Reminder: There is no Sunday School during the summer. The Adult Bible class will meet in June and August.

New Church Phone Directory Coming Soon! Please make corrections or additions to the copy in the narthex. You may add your email to the book if you like.

Septoberfest is less than 3 months away and the committee is working hard on planning. You all have heard about the bean bag toss games and I’m sure you are starting to practice. We need to have you sign up so we can get the beanbag boards ready. If you have a board we can use, please let us know. There are sign up lists on the bulletin board for a variety of places we need your help or if there is something you want to do, let us know. ~Karen Griffin
