Announcements:

We are in need of a treasurer for our preschool. We ask that you pray about serving the Lord in this way. Questions can be directed to Lori Jenks or Kent Ziebell.

It’s Apple Orchard Outing Time for all Youth Grades 1-12 SUNDAY, October 11, we will meet at Church at 12:30 pm and leave by 12:45 pm and travel to Center Grove Orchards in Cambridge, for the farmyard adventure with corn maze, hay maze, corn kernel pool, hay castle, jumping pillow, farm animals, and more. Sack lunches will be provided free to those that indicate on the permission forms that they will need one. The Board of Youth will pay admission for all St. Paul youth who attend. If youth wish to purchase pellets to feed the farm animals, or to make purchases at the farmyard store, they must bring their own money for these items. Permission forms are available in the lobby and must be returned by Oct. 8 to Carla Murphy or the church office. *Parents: If you are willing to provide/make sack lunches or donate food for the lunches for those that need them, please contact Carla Murphy at 451-2800 by Oct. 7.

Trunk or Treat is Coming! Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 2:00 – 3:30 pm. The community is invited to this fourth annual FREE event to trick or treat while enjoying family friendly crafts, games, and snacks. You can help by: 1. Hosting a trunk (please provide pre-packaged treats or give-aways) 2. Donating small candy or trinkets to hand out (candy must be prepackaged) 3. Volunteering at the event The sign-up sheet will be posted soon.

Conversational Dinners – October 11th. Our season opener was awesome, so are your ready for another “game”, meaning, our October event. “game plan” for October is to sharpen up those pumpkin carving/decorating skills. 2nd Annual Pumpkin/Decorating Contest is Sunday, October 11th, and I can’t wait to see what you all come up with this year! will meet as small groups this month, so we are looking for host couples. groups are 8-10 people (4-5 couples), that number is including the host couple. We encourage all adult members of St Paul to join us for the evening. The LWML Mite collection will be on the 4th Sunday beginning in September. We will leave the Mite box out on the 1st Sunday also until everyone has adjusted to this change.

Scandinavian Coffee Bake Sale– at Bethesda Lutheran Church on Friday, Oct. 9th from 9 am to 1:30 pm. See flyer on bulletin board.

The youth looking forward to attend the 2016 National Youth Gathering in New Orleans are less then a year away from this wonderful adventure and faith growing experience. We are busy working hard to finalize the fundraising for this event. On Sunday, September 13th the youth will be here to sell their plane tickets! Ok, not their REAL tickets, but this fundraiser you are able to Buy a Mile for $5, yes, for $5 you can pay for a mile of travel for this wonderful group. We will be kicking this fundraiser off on September 13th and it will last until we have the funds collected to pay our fare! In Christ Alone! If you have questions you may speak with any parent of youth attending or contact Thomas or Lisa Wilson.

The Sunday School Mission this fall will go to support the Lutheran Heritage Foundation’s PEOPLE NEEDING GOD – sharing the Gospel with the kids of Papua New Guinea. They have translated a Bible Studies book as well as the Catechism for children of PNG. For $5 a book can be shared with a child of PNG. We have targeted a goal of $575 enough to match our roster of 115 kids from 3 years – 12th grade! We will collect offerings through the end of the year.

Pastor Michael Redeker will be recruiting for Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in Ames, on Friday, November 13, at Memorial Lutheran Church from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Bethesda Food Pantry is low and needing food donations. Suggested items, hamburger helper, mac and cheese, peanut butter and granola bars. Big bags of cereal are good items also.

A Community Quilting Bee will be held Nov 3, 4, and 5 at the Orphan Grain Train Warehouse. See the flyer for more information.
