Announcements:

Conversational Dinners…With one terrific win already this fall, we are looking for a super season this year. A huge thank you to our Tailgate hosts, Alberta and Phil Voge and their wonderful assistants, Bob and Marilyn Walker. They teamed up to make our “road trip” to Webster City absolutely perfect. Now, onto the next “game”. We will be “teaming up” once again for our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest to be held on October 11th. We will need several host couples, we will provide the pumpkins, you all need to provide the decorating/carving magic. Pumpkins will be judged by the congregation on October 18th. Please let us know if you will or will not be attending the October event. With so many attending our September “game”, let’s keep the “ball rolling” and make it a “bowl worthy season”!!!! Please RSVP to Drue and Ellen Sander at druellen@hotmail.com or call 292-3574.

The LWML Mite collection will be on the 4th Sunday beginning in September. We will leave the Mite box out on the 1st Sunday also until everyone has adjusted to this change.

We are in need of a treasurer for our preschool. We ask that you pray about serving the Lord in this way. Questions can be directed to Lori Jenks or Kent Ziebell.

The youth looking forward to attend the 2016 National Youth Gathering in New Orleans are less then a year away from this wonderful adventure and faith growing experience. We are busy working hard to finalize the fundraising for this event. On Sunday, September 13th the youth will be here to sell their plane tickets! Ok, not their REAL tickets, but this fundraiser you are able to Buy a Mile for $5, yes, for $5 you can pay for a mile of travel for this wonderful group. We will be kicking this fundraiser off on September 13th and it will last until we have the funds collected to pay our fare! In Christ Alone! If you have questions you may speak with any parent of youth attending or contact Thomas or Lisa Wilson.

The Sunday School Mission this fall will go to support the Lutheran Heritage Foundation’s PEOPLE NEEDING GOD – sharing the Gospel with the kids of Papua New Guinea. They have translated a Bible Studies book as well as the Catechism for children of PNG. For $5 a book can be shared with a child of PNG. We have targeted a goal of $575 enough to match our roster of 115 kids from 3 years – 12th grade! We will collect offerings through the end of the year.

YOUR MITES IN ACTION- Third world countries are in dire need of clean water. 5,000 children die each day from diseases spread through unsafe drinking water. The clean water program of MOST Ministries will work with LCMS missionaries and national partner churches to deliver lifesaving water and hygiene education. Through this work, we proclaim to them the living water of Jesus Christ, His forgiveness and eternal life. This is one of the National LWML grants voted on and approve at the national LWML convention this past June. This grant of $50,000 will purchase, ship, and administer a 99% effective sustainable water filtration system for MOST (Mission Opportunities Short Term) clean water mission teams to distribute to 568 families and reach over 5,000 people with the gospel. Please pray daily this month for this mission.

Bethesda Food Pantry is low and needing food donations. Suggested items: Hamburger Helper, mac and cheese, peanut butter and granola bars. Big bags of cereal are good items also.
