Septoberfest Friday, Saturday, and Sunday September 18, 19, 20

Friday night, September 18: 6:45: family movie night in the tent; Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a movie with popcorn, hot dogs, and movie candy.

Saturday, September 19: Saturday morning 7:30 am: Devotion and Yoga followed by yummy smoothies.

Saturday afternoon: 3 pm: “Bags” Competition (teams); Basketball Toss;

Bingo w/ nice prizes; 5-6 pm Tailgate Supper for the whole family and friends and neighbors of St. Paul FREE (Grilled Brats, etc.).

Saturday evening in the Sanctuary: 6:20 pm devotion; 6:30 pm St. Paul Singers; 7 pm Gospel singers “Higher Power”; Social Event after concert

Sunday September 20: Sunday morning worship service at 8:30 am; Bible Trivia at 9:45; Festival Service in the tent at 11 am; Noon- FREE congregational catered dinner from Hickory Park (Sliced pork and turkey, cheesy potatoes, beans and creamy corn). Please bring a pie for competition or to share.

“Discussing Life End decisions from a Christian Perspective” seminar will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller, IA on Sept. 13th from 1-4 pm. See the flyer on the bulletin board for tickets and information.

Conversational Dinners “Season Opener”- Tail Gate Party – Away Game..TODAY.. All adult members of St. Paul, singles and couples, are invited to join us for an evening of fellowship, fun and great tailgate food. The 2015 Season Opener is an “away game” at the home of Phil and Alberta Voge at 1001 N. Terrace Drive, Webster City. Kick off is set for 5:00 TODAY. Burgers and brats will be furnished by the “away team” and the home team is asked to bring their favorite tail gate appetizer, side dish or dessert. Table service, tea and water will be provided by the St. Paul Officials, please bring your beverage of choice. Car pooling is recommended, and directions to the “field” will be sent to you prior to game day. So it’s “Game On”, and we’ll plan on seeing you today. BACKPACK DRIVE Thank you to all who have brought backpacks. We will continue collecting because we still need some smaller backpacks for younger children. The collection bin is at the EAST entrance of the church the end of September.

The LWML Mite collection will be on the 4th Sunday beginning in September. We will leave the Mite box out on the 1st Sunday also until everyone has adjusted to this change.

TODAY, September 13th ALL HIGH SCHOOL youth are invited to join us for our Fall series: Not A Fan. If someone asked you, “Are you a fan of Jesus?”, how would you answer? This study, authored by pastor Kyle Idleman takes a deep look into our relationship with Jesus, God, our Faith, and ultimately ourselves and our day to day relationships with others. Join us as we answer the question: What does it mean to REALLY follow Jesus?G meets Sundays at 9:45 – 10:45 in the youth room in the basement. Youth explore God’s nature- Wednesday we held our first LYF event by going to McFarland Park for a nature hike scavenger hunt and bonfire with hot dogs and s’mores. We had 11 youth attend. It was a fun night of exploring God’s creation and outdoor fellowship.Our next event will be going to the apple orchard in October. Sunday School starts TODAY, September 13th at 9:45 AM!

We will be handing out Bibles to the 3 yr olds, 3rd graders, and 7th graders today, September 13th at both services.

The youth looking forward to attend the 2016 National Youth Gathering in New Orleans are less then a year away from this wonderful adventure and faith growing experience. We are busy working hard to finalize the fundraising for this event. On Sunday, September 13th the youth will be here to sell their plane tickets! Ok, not their REAL tickets, but this fundraiser you are able to Buy a Mile for $5, yes, for $5 you can pay for a mile of travel for this wonderful group. We will be kicking this fundraiser off on September 13th and it will last until we have the funds collected to pay our fare! In Christ Alone!you have questions you may speak with any parent of youth attending or contact Thomas or Lisa Wilson.

Any youth interested in either of the Iowa District gatherings this fall need to contact Carla Murphy at 451-2800 for forms and information. Due date is September 20 for the October event.

A new Women’s Bible study begins Monday, Sept. 14th at 5:45 pm in the Youth room.

Alice Buck is now at Green Hills Care Center in room 115. She welcomes visitors!
