Please give prayerful consideration to becoming either a Sunday School teacher or Midweek teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. You may tag-team with another person so you only teach for ½ of the year. Midweek begins at 4:30 and is over at 5:30 on Wednesdays. This is a great opportunity to share your love of Christ with our young members. Contact Cindy Baas to volunteer.

The Darryl Jahn Scholarship– Beta Sigma Lutheran Fraternity  Each year since, the Ames Alumni Chapter of Beta Sigma Psi have offered the Darryl Jahn Scholarship to incoming Lutheran men who are enrolled to attend Iowa State University. During that time, we have awarded over $50,000 to the two or three applicants each year who best exemplify the purposes and Beta Sigma Psi. They have led their high schools academically, in sporting teams, their churches, and philanthropic endeavors. They have been leaders in their communities, churches, high schools, and organizations they were called upon, which is why the scholarship is named after our fraternity’s alumnus, the late Jahn. To apply for this scholarship, see the flyer on the bulletin board.

Sunday School Mission Project- This Spring we will be collecting offerings during Sunday School and directing them to Camp Okoboji to assist with replacement and enhancing their recreational items. Specifically we have targeted collecting around $400 for a new kayak and paddles.

KNOW SHOW & TELL” is this year’s theme for Stewardship Time & Talent Sunday on March 1st and Loyalty Sunday on March 8th. Everything we have in this life comes from God. Prayerfully consider how you and your family can share your time, talents, and treasures in service and praise to God for the blessings He has given you.

Youth Sunday in April – this is your time to let God’s light shine through you! We will need all available youth to participate in the special Youth Sunday on April 26. This is a Sunday when the youth are in charge of both church services. We need youth to greet members, serve as ushers, do special readings, deliver the children’s message, give faith testimonials or a mini sermon, sing or play in the music ensemble.  If you have ideas or something special you would like to do or share as part of this Sunday,  please contact Wayne Hagemoser or Carla Murphy by March 1.

Nominating Committee: It is that time of the year to begin the process of selecting our officers and board for the 2015-2016 church year. All members should prayerfully consider serving the Lord in the upcoming year. The time and talent mailing that we have received provides a convenient opportunity to indicate your desire to serve the Lord in 2015-2016.The nominating committee will review the time and talent findings and contact you regarding area of interest.   All positions are very important in the work of the Lord at St. Paul but this year into the regular positions we will need a treasurer. After five years of faithful service to the Lord as treasurer, Dean Ulrichson is stepping down. you want to discuss the duties of any of the positions, including treasurer, contact one of the nominating committee co-chairs, Steve Vollstedt or Paul Knop.
