Announcements:

Do you ever see people and wonder what their names are? Have you ever heard an announcement regarding a member and wished you could put a face with a name? Are you a new member and wish you had something to help you put names with faces? Help is on the way! We are producing a pictorial family album! There is no cost to have your portraits taken, and you will receive a complimentary 8×10 portrait and directory for participating. Photos will be taken September 16th- 20th here at the church. You can sign up on line at  https://www.securedata-trans14.com/ap/stpaullutheranchurch41/index.php?page=10 or at church on Sundays. To make our directory a success we need volunteers on picture days. See the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.

High School Sunday Morning Small Group  On Sunday mornings in Fall 2014, high school youth will be discussing “God’s Not Dead”. Save the Date…Sunday evening, September 21st, 6:30pm…. Conversational Dinners “Fall Fireside Festival! It’s a crisp fall evening, daylight is fading and a there is a hint of smoke on the air.  The smell of hotdogs being roasted over an open fire, hot chocolate gently warms your hands, and a large yellow moon just peaks out from behind the trees…the opening scenes in a movie????   Much better than that…it’s the first Conversational Dinner of the year AND you are all invited to come. Will and Gretchen Zitterich have offered their woodsy backyard to host a wiener roast with all the trimmings, so mark your calendars and plan to join in our “Fall Fireside Festival”.  Sign up opportunities will be available soon, for further information contact Drue and Ellen Sander. A new Wednesday morning Bible study begins this week! This fall, our Wednesday morning group will conclude our study of the Pentateuch (first 5 books of the Bible) with a study of Deuteronomy. In this book, Moses delivers his farewell addresses to the people of Israel, prior to his death and the transfer of leadership to Joshua. Moses reiterates God’s commands and promises to His people. We will meet Wednesday mornings at 10:30-11:30 a.m. For this week, Sept. 3, please read chapters 1-4.

Next Sunday is Mite Box Sunday. Please help the LWML reach their Mite goal by dropping your extra coins or bills in the large Mite box. All those extra coins and bills are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Reminder– Women’s Bible study will resume our normal schedule in September, beginning Sept 15th at 5:45 pm.

Are you an adult who has never been confirmed? Would you like to learn more about the core beliefs of the Christian church, drawn from Scriptures? Would you like to dig deeper into the foundations of our faith and the teachings which come from Christ? We are working to make plans for a new adult confirmation class. The class would involve workbook lessons you complete at home and group discussions with Pastor and other participants in the class. You may attend the class simply to review the material and to refresh your faith, or you may attend with a goal of being confirmed. If you are an adult who has an interest in this, please speak to Pastor Jenks.

Learn to Dance- Dance lessons will begin Thursday, Sept 25 and run for 6 weeks (concluding Oct. 30) here in the fellowship hall.  The cost is $65 per couple for the 6 week session. The class is limited to 20 couples. The first 12 to sign up will receive a $10 discount. Sign up on the bulletin board. Questions? Contact Ron or Julie Coy at 233-5097.

Midweek Classes begin Sept. 3rd – 4:30 –5:30 pm.

We have a wonderful outreach here at St. Paul with our preschool. One of the best ways we can support our preschool’s families is through prayer. We would like to have a church family praying regularly for each preschool family. That’s it!!!  Just pray!  Please sign up on the bulletin board and a preschool family will be given to you to include in your prayers.

Bring your old laundered jeans and flannel shirts or fabric to the Quilters Box before October 12. They will be taken to Perry where they will be made into quilts for homeless veterans. If you have questions, contact Marilyn Hagemoser at 232-2807.

Thank you so much for all of your support of St. Paul’s Preschool. The Farm Progress Show was a huge success thanks to our congregation!
