Midweek Kick-off will be Wednesday, Aug 27th at 6 pm. Please RSVP to the office by Aug. 25.  Thank you. Classes begin Sept. 3rd.

Do you ever see people and wonder what their names are? Have you ever heard an announcement regarding a member and wished you could put a face with a name? Are you a new member and wish you had something to help you put names with faces? Help is on the way! We are producing a pictorial family album! There is no cost to have your portraits taken, and you will receive a complimentary 8×10 portrait and directory for participating. Photos will be taken September 16th- 20th here at the church. You can sign up on line at  https://www.securedata-trans14.com/ap/stpaullutheranchurch41/index.php?page=10 or at church on Sundays. To make our directory a success we need volunteers. See the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.

We have a wonderful outreach here at St. Paul with our preschool. One of the best ways we can support our preschool’s families is through prayer. We would like to have a church family praying regularly for each preschool family. That’s it!!!  Just pray!  Please sign up on the bulletin board and a preschool family will be given to you to include in your prayers.

High School Sunday Morning Small Group On Sunday mornings in Fall 2014, high school youth will be discussing “God’s Not Dead”. Contact Thomas or Lisa Wilson for more details and to let them know if you will be attending! We hope to have you ALL there! High school students will meet 9:45-10:45 am Sunday mornings.

Reminder– Women’s Bible study will only meet once more in August, the 25th at 7:00 pm. We are not doing a series, just stand-alone studies, so all are welcome. No special materials or homework – just bring your Bible.  We will resume our normal schedule in September, beginning Sept 15th at 5:45 pm.

Learn to Dance  Dance lessons will begin Thursday, Sept 25 and run for 6 weeks (concluding Oct. 30) here in the fellowship hall.  The cost is $65 per couple for the 6 week session. The class is limited to 20 couples. The first 12 to sign up will receive a $10 discount. Sign up on the bulletin board. Questions? Contact Ron or Julie Coy at 233-5097.

Bring your old laundered jeans and flannel shirts or fabric to the Quilters Box before October 12. They will be taken to Perry where they will be made into quilts for homeless veterans. If you have questions, contact Marilyn Hagemoser at 232-2807.

Demolition Servant Event! Lutherans For Life is looking for immediate volunteer help with demolition at their new building in Nevada in preparation for remodeling. If you can help, call at 515-382-2077.”

On August 31, Good Neighbor is holding its Italian Dinner to raise money for Healthy Food Vouchers for needy Story County residents. It will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Ames at 6:00 for the social; 6:30 for the buffet dinner. You will get a delicious buffet of three entrees, salad, bread, a light dessert and beverage. Ticket price for this dinner is $35 per person and is mostly tax deductible. St. Paul is one of the “founding” members of Good Neighbor more than 16 years ago, and continues to support the agency with Carol Folkmann and Pat Thiede serving on it’s board of directors. Please support us as you wish and are able!! Email or phone Carol (carol.folkmann@gmail.com, 515-450-5819) or Pat Thiede (patsy50010@gmail.com) if you wish to purchase tickets –and/or have questions.
