REGISTER TODAY TO TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE AND MAKE TRACKS TO VBS!  Weird Animals VBS will be held Sunday, Aug. 3 through Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 6-8:15pm with an optional family meal at 5:20pm. VBS is for kids ages 3 through 6^th grade.  NEW THIS YEAR– our first night (Sunday) is FAMILY NIGHT. We want all members of your family to join us for the whole evening starting with a meal at 5:20pm. We will do an opening in the sanctuary, some songs and a short Bible story lesson and then go back to the Fellowship Hall to assemble the Health Kits and quilts as a big group.  We still need volunteers to provide a meal on the first night, people to work the registration table and 2 more people to be Zoo Crew guides and helpers. Contact Carla Murphy (VBS Coordinator), Cindy Baas (Board of Education Chair) or see the sign up sheet on the bulletin board.  VBS is also in need of:  1. “weird animals” to use as decorations. (like the ones by the VBS display). If you have any you no longer need, please bring to the church and place under the table.  2. Artificial bright flowers or greenery (if you want returned, please label with your name)

The last Sunday to make changes to the new church phone directory will be Sunday, August 3rd. Please check the copy in the narthex to see if your information is correct. You may add email addresses or cell phone numbers if you desire. 

JOIN US August 10 & 17 AT 9:45 am for SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR ALL AGES!! ~ Creation Q & A  Can the movement of the heavenly bodies control our lives?   People who believe in horoscopes put their trust in the positioning of the planets, sun, moon, and stars to control their lives – instead of God.  The Bible teaches us that God is actively   involved with His creation and in our lives (Matthew 6:28-30).  He is the One we can trust to direct our lives – not objects in the sky. JOIN US FOR SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL August 10 & 17!  Pre-School – 6^th Grade / Preschool Gathering Area;  7^th Grade – Adult / Fellowship Hall

 Items Needed for health kits  We are accepting donations of health items to make health kits as part of the Summer Sunday school mission project. Items needed include: toothbrushes, tooth paste, washcloths, nylon body scrubbers, body wash, shampoo, razors, combs, band aids, and 16” x 25” dish towels.

 Reminder– Women’s Bible study will continue to meet during the summer on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th Mondays at 7:00 pm. We are not doing a series, just stand-alone studies, so all are welcome whatever day you can make it. No special materials or homework – just bring your Bible.

Are you an adult who has never been confirmed? Would you like to learn more about the core beliefs of the Christian church, drawn from Scriptures? Would you like to dig deeper into the foundations of our faith and the teachings which come from Christ? We are working to make plans for a new adult confirmation class. The class would involve workbook lessons you complete at home and group discussions with Pastor and other participants in the class. You may attend the class simply to review the material and to refresh your faith, or you may attend with a goal of being confirmed. If you are an adult who has an interest in this, please speak to Pastor Jenks very soon.

Our Quilting group is in need of used sheets, cloth tablecloths, mattress pads, and fabrics for use in making quilts for the needy. Please place in the tub marked “Quilter Supplies” in the narthex. Thanks!!

The WOSP want your old cell phones and empty ink cartridges. Someone in your family got a new cell phone?? Please bring us your old cell phones (with charger) and home and/or office ink cartridges and place them in the container in the fellowship hall. These will be sold and the money used to defray the cost of the LWML convention in Des Moines in 2015.
