TIME – TALENTS – TREATS!!!  Don’t miss the Time & Talent Fair on Sunday, February 2nd in the Fellowship Hall during the educational hour between services. The St. Paul boards and committees will be there to share the many opportunities we all have to get involved in supporting our church, each other, and most importantly our Lord and Savior. Treats and beverages will be provided so please plan to join us. The St. Paul Stewardship Board.

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study: Faith Lessons from the Holy Land   All are invited to our new Sunday morning adult Bible study in the fellowship hall.   Our studies take us back to ancient Egypt, the land of Pharaohs, pageantry, and rich resources, where God’s people endured the misery of slavery.  Vibrant film footage, historical insights from archaeologist Ray Vander Laan, and group discussion of the Scriptures will make this a memorable and moving time of learning.

Our new Audio/Visual system is in use. We are in need of willing people who would like to be trained to operate the control panel. If you would be willing to serve in this way, please let Chris Hand or the office know.  Thank you,  Board of Elders

The Praise Team is in great need of a percussionist or rhythm person.  If you can help out, please talk to Joan Ingwersen.

The Bible Study on the Gospel of Matthew continues on Wed, Jan 22nd. We will cover chapters 6-9.

A new Women’s Bible study continues every Monday evening. We are studying the life and writings of Paul. We just got started and still have a few books, so come join us. The books are $10. We meet Mondays from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. here at the church.

St. Paul Lutheran Church Blood Drive – Tuesday, January 21, 2014, 3:00pm- 6:30pm, St. Paul Lutheran Church Bloodmobile, 610 15th Street, Ames. To make an appointment, contact Nancy Wiebel at (563) 357-0517 or schedule online at http://www.lifeservebloodcenter.org/    Your donation means so much. Thank you for giving the gift of life!

Printed Bulletins  The Board of Elders has been monitoring the bulletins we print and distribute at each worship service.  We are seeing an ongoing decrease in the number of bulletins requested now that we have the new AV system up and running and the worship service is being projected onto the screen.  We are pleased to see this and beginning in February our ushers will offer those who come to worship the choice of either a full bulletin with service order plus announcement page, OR an announcement insert only.  The decreased usage of paper serves as a way we are acting as good stewards of the resources in God’s creation. In addition, the decreased paper usage offers a lower monetary expenditure for printing costs. We are very excited about our new AV abilities and truly appreciate your input and patience as we move forward with the implementation.  Thank you, Board of Elders

We need you!!!!  This is a casting call for 4 women and 4 men to be a St. Paul Player in our  Murder Mystery Dinner, “The Last Train From Paris” on Saturday, March 1st.    The evening is being hosted by our LWML and Conversational Dinners and everyone is invited to join us for dinner and a. “Good mystery”.    Contact Ellen Sander (druellen@hotmail.com) if interested in being a member of the cast.

Food Pantry Sunday- as an added item for the food pantry for February we would like to add children’s underwear. Many stores have good sales on them now and we can take them to Bethesda along with the food items for them to put in their clothes closet.  Please bring RED items for the food pantry for February.
