An Invitation to Join Our Congregation…

On December 8, we will have a special Welcome Sunday for new members.  If you are not yet a member, we would love for you to become one, so we may welcome you in our newest group of new members. If you are interested in learning more, please either speak with Pastor Jenks or check the “Desire to Join” box on the Care Card pad in your pew and be sure to include your phone number.

Thanksgiving Baskets of Plenty Sunday, November 24, is the Thanksgiving Food In-Gathering for Bethesda Community Food Pantry. Cash donations and food items will be placed on the altar. Suggested food item: food which can be sent home with children for the Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. Many children only have the meal they get at school and during breaks they may not have anything.

If you are leaving town for the winter, please let the office know your winter address so we can send the Epistle and other mailings to you.

The Concordia Self-Study Bible will be permanently out of print soon. The Concordia Self-Study Bible (CSSB) provides the older version of the NIV Bible (1984) translation with Zondervan’s NIV Study Bible notes, modified by Lutheran Bible scholars. We encourage you to this Bible now. Concordia is offering an alternative: The Lutheran Study Bible.  See the Concordia website for details. www.cph.org

NEEDED:  Nursery volunteers for both the 8:30 service and 9:45 Sunday School hour.  We cannot continue to rely on the same few people month after month.  Please consider taking one hour a month.  Our children and parents need you!

The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign will be starting soon. If you are interested in volunteering, contact the Bell Ringing Coordinator at 233-3567 or go to the website www.ringames.org.

2014 Offering envelopes are ready to pick up. See the tables in the west entryway.

Time to start collecting gently used winter coats and bedding. Also need new knit hats and gloves and underwear.  Keep bringing shoes-new, old, worn and smelly. They take them all. The good ones go to the HOPE ministry thrift shop and the others are recycled.
